Event production managers run virtually all aspects of an event — from the initial event idea and planning to the live event setup, managing the day-to-day activities during the event and the tear down. Their skill set should include strategizing, excellent communication skills, time management and a strong focus on delivering the client the best event possible. In short, it’s a good thing that we have Mike Mennen on our team!
In March 2015, Mike joined the team with an extensive background in various areas of production. His previous jobs include work with Cumulus Media, the Waterloo Blackhawks and Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center. As a graduate from North Iowa Area Community College and the University of Northern Iowa, he has been dedicated to continuing his career in event production. We are fortunate to have Mike take the lead on event planning and have him travel to many of our events and shows.
When Mike started at Wired Production Group, he was hired by Ron Rausch as a production specialist engineer. Over the course of his career with our company, he has moved from production specialist engineer to production manager to his current role as senior production manager. Mike works closely with our COO, Aaron Wells, and our technical production staff to keep our live event management workflow running smoothly.
Outside of his busy work schedule, Mike is a movie addict. We think that he’s seen just about every movie under the sun. He is a fan of good food and good music from bands like The Foo Fighters and The Gaslight Anthem. He and his fiancee, Linnea, purchased a house this year and have their wedding planned for November 2019.
