Five years ago today, the Cedar River crested during the Flood of 2008. It was a hard summer in Cedar Rapids, with thousands of homes and businesses impacted. The recovery process has been long and grueling, but the progress we have made is worth celebrating.

It was a gorgeous summer day today, a welcome relief from the all-too-common severe weather and rain thus far. In a live event hosted by the City of Cedar Rapids, KCRG & United Way, hundreds gathered on Mays Island to commemorate the moment the river crested at over 31 feet.

Rausch Productions was happy to assist and provide equipment for this meaningful event. The LED screens projected KCRG TV-9 interviews with local leaders and a keynote address by mayor Ron Corbett.

Be sure to let us know how we can best serve you! We love to do these local live ceremonial events, or join us in dreaming up anything you need – near or far, big or small. Our LED screens and equipment can travel to you.
