What Does A Rigging Supervisor Do?

Over the course of the year, Wired Production Group produces almost 200 concerts across the Midwest. At many of these concerts, our company is required to build the stages for the events. A stage is only as good as the equipment and the riggers behind it. The event production professionals who install rigging systems, either permanent or temporary, have a big responsibility to build safe stages for performers, the crews, and the audience.

Riggers require extensive training with a strong understanding of technical drawings, rigging plots, and equipment use, like chain hoists. Many stages and roof structures are built on a temporary basis, so riggers are often building and then tearing down the same stage with a few days. Riggers need technical skills to execute the roof and stage build and must also have strong communication skills to make sure that everyone on-site is working safely and on schedule. One person with these skills (and more) is our very own Adam Lee.

Adam was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, but he calls Cedar Rapids home. Adam attended Kirkwood Community College and studied LAN Management, but decided that being dedicated to a computer every day was not the best job for him. Since 2013, Adam has been involved in theatre and concert production stage rigging throughout the Midwest. Adam has worked for our team as a stagehand for the last few years. He officially joined our Wired Production Group family in the summer of 2019 as Rigging Supervisor. He jumped right into our busy season and he has never looked back.

Fun Fact: Adam is a heavy metal music fan. Some of his favorite bands include Lamb of God, Devildriver, and Dethklok. Adam loves spending time with his super-cool son named Ryker, who is turning 10 this year! Time flies when you are having fun being a dad.

We are incredibly fortunate to have him as a very skilled part of our team.

He was great to have on the team as he was making things happen and wowing the customer along the way. His dedication to our team and our company is a great addition.
