Wired Production Group Supports University of Iowa’s 21st Annual Nachte Raho

Since 2003, students in the UI Indian Student Alliance have brought an annual dance showcase to the University of Iowa campus. This Bollywood Fusion dance competition called Nachte Raho is recognized as one of the largest Bollywood fusion dance competitions in the Midwest.

Nachte Raho has grown in popularity, with participating dance groups and attendees coming from across the country. A change of venue was needed to accommodate the growing event back in 2018. Nachte Raho was previously hosted at the Iowa Memorial Union on the University of Iowa campus but has since moved to Hancher Auditorium in Iowa City.

Traditionally, eight teams are chosen among various applicants to compete for a cash prize. For the competition, each team prepares an eight to ten-minute dance routine at Hancher Auditorium. These dance routines can include any sort of music choice, like hip-hop or classical music, but must always include a unique Bollywood spin.
