AsianFest will return to NewBo City Market in Cedar Rapids in 2024! With thousands from across Eastern Iowa attending this annual festival, Wired Production Group is proud to support this impressive festival for the third year, showcasing Asian heritage and inspiring community members to connect through Asian culture.
What is AsianFest?
AsianFest celebrates diversity and inclusivity for all through a day full of multicultural events. The festival aims to embrace each other’s differences and grow as a community that welcomes diversity. The event is 100% volunteer-led — everything is planned and coordinated by volunteers supporting the Iowa Asian Alliance.
Since 2015, the Iowa Asian Alliance has hosted AsianFest in Cedar Rapids. The Iowa Asian Alliance’s Eastern Iowa Chapter works hard to cultivate, promote, and advocate Asian cultures and perspectives to enhance the diverse quality of life that is flourishing in Eastern Iowa. Members hold the vision to celebrate diversity and continue to make Eastern Iowa inclusive for all by hosting multicultural events, encouraging public policy engagement, and enhancing the quality of life.
The 10th Annual AsianFest is in the works! The festival will begin at noon on Saturday, September 21st, at NewBo City Market in Cedar Rapids. The festival is free for all ages. Attendees are invited to dine, dance, and develop an appreciation for Asian communities in Iowa. In 2023, the festival hosted over 8,000 attendees who engaged with dozens of cultural exhibits, food, live music, incredible performances, martial arts, and plenty of family-friendly activities. Asian communities recognized in the festivities include but are not limited to Indian, Korean, Japanese, Burmese, Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, Cambodian, and Filipino.

While AsianFest is a one-day event in Eastern Iowa, your support is needed beyond that single day. The Iowa Asian Alliance accepts monetary donations year-round on its donation page.
