What Does It Take To Be A Video Editor and Videographer?

According to IMDB, Eric Dean Freese is known for his video production work in multiple movies. This is in addition to his work with our team at Wired Production Group. Since 2011, Eric has been an integral part of our video production staff as Senior Editor and Videographer. He has helped build the foundation for our growing video and event production company and he plays an important role in our work with clients.

Eric hails from Clarence, Iowa, a small town in Cedar County. With a passion for all things creative, Eric holds not one, but two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Iowa. He initially graduated with his degree in Art, focusing on graphic design and photography. After nearly 10 years in the workforce, Eric challenged himself to obtain a second degree in Cinema and Comparative Literature with an emphasis in production. Saying this guy is one smart cookie is definitely an understatement!

In the daily grind, Eric is dedicated to learning all things video. When he is not developing graphics and editing video pieces for our clients, he is taking the lead on our webcasting services. Or maybe he’s on a shoot with our drone. Or maybe he’s operating our jib at a trade show. Eric wears many hats in our video department, and we appreciate him wearing every single one of them.

When Eric is not behind his computer or camera at work, he is spending his time focusing on fun outside projects, like the short film expected to release in 2019 called The Eidolon Inquest. He has been involved in many notable cinematic productions, including The Final Season (2007). He has also donated countless hours to the Cedar Rapids Independent Film Festival program in past years. He is happily married to his long-time sweetheart, Amanda, and has two boys at home, Evan and Owen. He is the expert at all things Dr. Who and Star Wars and he has a hidden talent for selling things on Craigslist.

At the end of the day, Eric is an absolute rockstar in our books. He’s the best of the best and we appreciate everything that he does for our team, both small and big. We are looking forward to working with you for many more years to come. Thanks for being you, Eric!
