In the event production industry, Wired Production Group is no stranger to creative event planning and unique event design ideas. We appreciate it when our clients come to us with a creative concept and trust us to make it happen. Each year, the Bubble Ball Gala by ChildServe in Des Moines, Iowa, raises thousands of dollars for the ChildServe organization through their signature gala that includes a custom fashion show with entertainers dancing down the runway with bubble wrap fashions. That’s right: bubble wrap attire and accessories! (Talk about talent!)

In collaboration with event planner Tracy Fuller of InnovativEvents, our creative production team coordinated the staging, lighting, and AV design based on the themed fashion runway show. Since the inception of the Bubble Ball in 2011, more than 100 design professionals come together every year to produce this unique event that raises money for ChildServe. ChildServe is a statewide program that works to improve the health and well-being of children with special healthcare needs. With the funds raised by Bubble Ball, ChildServe is able to provide services and special healthcare facilities to more than 4,000 Iowa families each year.

The fashion show event space in Des Moines was designed by our staging team. In the ballroom, our production crew built a custom stage with an enlarged runway for the professionals to do their dances, flips and spins. The stage design included a special backdrop with projection screens that displayed live video of the entertainers up close for everyone at the gala to see, no matter how close or far away from the stage or runway they were seated.

Since the show theme changes every year, our lighting designers work with the event planner to develop a color scheme that complements each theme. Since the entertainers are showing off their bubble wrap designs through outfits and props, they need to be highlighted for everyone to see! The light show brings even more color to the entertainers and blows the audience away from the moment they step on stage to the end of the show.

While the event set-up takes almost two days and the gala only lasts a few hours, it is an event that guests will never forget. The final event production, complete with the vibrant bubble wrap designs and epic performances, blows guests away every year. Wired Production Group is honored to be a part of this special gala and fashion show.
