CEDAR RAPIDS – The Collins Story: Connecting the Moon to the Earth – Live from the Moon has been chosen as an Official Selection to be exhibited at the 2020 Cedar Rapids Independent Film Festival. The festival will be held at Collins Road Theatres in Marion, Iowa on Friday, April 3rd and Saturday, April 4th. The Festival is open to the general public and ticket sales will be announced soon. This documentary was produced by Wired Production Group in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in association with Busbee Communications.

“The story of the unheralded role employees of a Cedar Rapids company played in the space program of the 1960s is an important one to tell and preserve,” said Annette Busbee of Busbee Communications and writer and executive producer of the films. “Not many people are aware that every Mercury, Gemini and Apollo astronaut’s voice from space was heard through Collins Radio equipment and systems.”

Live from the Moon is a 54 minute documentary that follows Apollo 11 and America’s landing men on the moon. It also covers the crucial role Collins’ communications equipment played supporting the crippled Apollo 13 mission. This is one of a three-part series being created by the Arthur A. Collins Legacy Association. The Arthur A. Collins Legacy Association produced the documentaries using archival film, images, documents and interviews with former Collins Radio employees. The Association is honored to have the films recognized by CRIFF and IMPA.  The official movie listing can be found at www.IMDB.com.
